Bicycles and eBikes
A Revolution in Mobility
These two wheel vehicles have unique and counter-intuitive handling characteristics.
Learn how to master these miraculous machines that revolutionized human mobility

Tricycles and eTrikes
Stability, confidence, and cargo!

Just because you no longer need to balance doesn't mean there isn't skill required to master these road and cargo warriors and the skills you learned from a bicycle don't directly transfer.

Kick Scooters
Inexpensive and Expansive

Don't let the small wheels fool you, these are no longer your child's toy. Kick Scooters can be powerful street vehicles for people of all sizes and ultimately portable! With small tires, short handlebars, and high speeds, these scoots are more agile than a bicycle but are less forgiving.

Mobility Scooters
Never let age and ability stop you

Mobility Scooters and Motorized Wheelchairs are expanding horizons for many people and the MicroMobility revolution is also granting these vehicles increased speeds and ranges, but face the same road hazards.
W're never to old to learn new tricks!

One Wheel Vehicle
High Skill and High Reward

Highly nimble, extremely novel, these personal electric vehicles stand out and turn heads wherever they go.
Practice on your board or try one of ours, our long board paddles will help you gain confidence away from traffic.

Cargo Bikes & Trailers
Carry more, do more

Small vehicles don't mean small capacity, but larger vehicles and heavier loads are slower to maneuver and tighter clearences.
Learn the capabilities and limitations of these heavy weights in a controlled and safer environment

Other PEV
MicroMobility is wonderfully diverse and innovative!
Just because we haven't dreamed it yet, doesn't mean we can't help you learn to ride it!
Our only requirement is the vehicle must be able to come to a full stop in a straight line with your feet still on/in the vehicle.
Not Allowed: traditional skate boards and Flintstones' cars.
Our Coaches
Coaches are tasked with helping you be the best you can be and going your own pace
Let our coaches troubleshoot your two-wheeled hurdles and encourage your budding confidence.
Our Story
Bikes 001 was born from a passion for helping people of all ages and abilities experience the joy, freedom, and confidence of riding on two wheels. Whether it’s a child pedaling for the first time, a neurodivergent individual mastering a new skill, or a motorcyclist navigating their first freeway ride, we’re here to provide personalized, patient instruction tailored to each rider’s unique journey.

Many traditional cycling classes assume prior knowledge or focus on large group settings, often leaving behind those who thrive with one-on-one attention. Bikes 001 fills that gap by offering individualized lessons year-round, creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every rider can progress at their own pace.

Starting in parking lots and city parks across Portland, Oregon, Bikes 001 aspires to grow into a program that serves communities statewide. Our vision is to empower riders throughout Oregon, especially children and adults in the neurodivergent community. We believe every “first” is a milestone worth celebrating, and we’re committed to making those moments safe, fun, and memorable. At Bikes 001, we’re not just teaching skills—we’re inspiring confidence and freedom, one ride at a time.
Our Vision
We envision a world where everyone, regardless of age or ability, experiences the freedom and independence that cycling can provide.

Our goal is to become a trusted resource for first-time riders, children with disabilities, and anyone seeking to master the fundamentals of two-wheel riding, while fostering a lifelong love of exploration and self-confidence.
By bridging the gap in training, we aim to make riding a safe and transformative experience for all.
Our Values
-
Inclusivity: Welcoming riders of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds in a safe, supportive space.
-
Patience: Personalized, pressure-free instruction at each rider’s pace.
-
Empowerment: Building confidence and unlocking the joy of riding.
-
Safety: Teaching essential skills for confident, secure riding.
